Raw Chocolate Pudding

On this detox, one of the things I can't don't eat is SUGAR!
Not even honey, maple syrup, brown rice syrup or coconut sugar. Nothing but stevia and xylitol.

So I pulled out this recipe that I tried a few years ago.

Easy Peasy!!

1 Avocado
1 Banana
2 Tbsp Raw Cacao
Stevia to taste
1/2 tsp Vanilla

Put in food processor and process until smooth.

Chocolate Shake/Pudding

I love this Chocolate Shake from David Wolfe! It is SO yummy!

Here is my usual shake:
1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk
2 scoops of Immortal Machine
1 tsp Lucuma Powder
1 tsp Berry Radical
1 tsp Infinity-C
5 frozen strawberries (not pictured)
(Other additions include Bee Pollen and Maca Powder)

Blend and enjoy!

But last night I did all of that plus 1 Avocado and here is what happened:

It turned into this creamy, chocolatey pudding!

It made 2 cups like this and I ate it for dinner.
I felt a little naughty having pudding for dessert - but only for a few minutes :)

How to drink more water

This morning I filled up this glass pitcher full of water and a sliced lemon. Whenever I was thirsty, I poured water from this pitcher. I was surprised by about 6 pm it was all gone! Bonus, I drank more than this pitcher-full.

Chia Pudding

This stuff is pretty tasty.

I never would have tried Chia (I always thought it was just used to grow Chia pets :)

Here are some uses for Chia seeds:

And here is what Dr. OZ has to say about Chia:

Here are some other recipes where I used Chia:

And here is the recipe I used:

Chia Pudding
1/2 cup chia seeds
2 cups almond milk
1 dropperful of Stevia
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Mix and refrigerate overnight.

Tomorrow I start day 1 of Dr. Sara Gottfried's 30 Day Detox. You can find more information here.

Santa left her new book in my stocking and it has been a great book to read and learn from. I am excited to start this detox for the next 30 days. I'll be cutting out red meat, sugar, gluten, and dairy. I'll also cut out alcohol and caffeine (thank goodness I've got those covered already!)

Looking at my calendar, I have a full schedule already. It's full of ball games, tournaments, numerous church meetings and activities and lessons, work and I'm topping it off with a detox. Hmmm, what was I thinking!??

I really want to cleanse my body and re-set my hormones. My hopes are that I can get back to running at full speed (oh, wait I already do that), but be at my optimal energy level instead of dragging or being tired or totally stressed out. Some things will just have to be cut out of my month and I'll probably have to say no to some things. It's time to relax and slow down and let my body heal. (I'm going to have to add those words (relax and slow down) to my vocabulary)

I'm thinking of doing this once or twice a year. Would be a good way to cleanse my body for all of the stress and stuff that I put into it.

I've only got one body so I better do my very best to take care of it.

Here's to a clean month!
